Ways to Give
Individual circumstances vary and there are many ways to give to Sion.
Cash is the most common method. You may make your cash gift by check, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and ACH. Gifts can be made on-line or mailed to school, attention: Advancement Department. Checks should be made payable to Notre Dame de Sion School.
To maximize your gift, Sion is able to receive corporate matching gifts. Consult with your employer to determine if this is an option.
Planned Giving or Bequest
Gifts made through a provision in one’s will naming Notre Dame de Sion School as the beneficiary are welcome. You may choose to give a specific amount, asset, or percentage of your estate, the remainder of your estate after bequests to your heirs, or a bequest contingent upon the survival of heirs. The federal estate tax and inheritance tax savings can be substantial.
You may be able to deduct the full fair market value and avoid capital gains tax. Registered securities with a gift letter should be delivered unassigned to Sion or ask your broker to contact Sion for detailed transfer instructions. Do not sell securities prior to contact with Sion in order to ensure your tax deduction.
Real Estate, Personal Property, and Royalties
Acceptance will include considerations such as condition of the property, marketability, and potential environmental risks.
Notre Dame de Sion School may be named as the owner and sole or shared beneficiary of a life insurance policy. If so, the premiums are tax deductible to the payee. Prepaid insurance policies are deductible now while you are still living.
Gifts in kind are needed goods and services rather than a direct financial gift.
Tributes (Memorials & Honorariums)
Any gift given to Sion can be given in memory of a deceased love one or to honor a special person in your life. Simply include your memorial or tribute request along with your gift. Tribute gifts are directed to the Annual Fund unless otherwise noted.
