Swim and Dive season begins Monday, November 7th. There will be a meeting Friday morning, October 28 at 7:30 a.m. in Room 106
Swimmers: 4:45-7:00 p.m. (at Red Bridge YMCA)
Dive: 3:45-5:30 at Longview
Congratulations to the Swim and Dive Team who competed at the MSHSAA State Meet. The State Qualifiers were Rebecca Jacobs, Sammie Nesslein, Margaret Brandmeyer, Kaitlin Wagner, Katarina Qamar, Ellie Magsamen, Meredith Oswald, Nathalie Barbeau and Lauren Blando. Special congratulations to Rebecca Jacobs who earned Honorable Mention All State Honors when she placed 13th in Diving!
On Saturday in Springfield, Missouri, the Sion Swim Team Relay team comprised of Katarina Qamar (SR), Ellie Magsamen (SO), Meredith Oswald (SO), and Nathalie Barbeau (SR), also qualified for State Competition in St. Louis! They join the following swim and dive young women who will compete at State : Kaitlin Wagner, Rebecca Jacobs, Margaret Brandmeyer, and Sammie Nesslein.
We have four girls who have qualified for State in Swim/Dive thus far . They are: Kaitlin Wagner, Rebecca Jacobs, Margaret Brandmeyer, and Sammie Nesslein. They have another large meet in Springfield this weekend where they hope to have even more qualify. Senior night will be tomorrow night at Red Bridge YMCA at 4:00. Please join me in cheering them on!
Congratulations to the Girls Swim and Dive Team on their 20th place finish at the MSHSAA State Meet.
The 200 Medley Relay team of Kat Qamar, Ellie Magsamen, Meghan Kearney, and Nathalie Barbeau placed 22nd. The 200 Free Relay Team of Meghan Kearney, Nathalie Barbeau, Megan Sloan, and Clare McGannon placed 21st. The 400 Free Relay Team of Meredith Oswald, Ellie Magsamen, Megan Sloan, and Clare McGannon placed 28th.
Meghan Kearney placed 7th in the 200 Freestyle, earning All-State honors. She also placed 15th in the 100 butterfly, earning All-State Honorable Mention Honors.
Margaret Brandmeyer placed 8th in Diving, earning All-State Honors.
Rebecca Jacobs placed 15th in Diving, earning All-State Honorable Mention Honors.
Sammie Nesslein placed 22nd in Diving.
Kaitlin Wagner placed 32nd in Diving.

Congratulations to the Swim and Dive team for a strong showing at Day 1 of the Independent League Championships. The girls had many great swims highlighted by new State Qualifying Times by the 200 Free Relay team of Meghan Kearney, Megan Sloan, Nathalie Barbeau, and Clare McGannon and the 400 Free Relay Team of Meredith Oswald, Ellie Magsamen, Clare McGannon, and Meghan Kearney.

The Swim and Dive team was victorious over St Teresa's on January 27 with a score of 119-66. At this meet, Sammie Nesslein achieved a State Qualifying Score in Diving.
The team traveled to Springfield over the weekend where they competed Friday in a multi-team dual meet and were victorious over 4 of the 6 teams they competed against. On Saturday, they competed in the Springfield Invitational and placed 9th out of 20 teams. The team will compete at the Independent League Championships next Wednesday and Thursday.
The Kansas City Star recently recognized the accomplishments of the team in the Neighborhood News section of the paper.
The Swim and Dive Team most recently competed at the Kansas City Classic and placed 4th out of 21 teams. We have had 7 girls already qualify for the State Meet which will be held in St Louis February 20-21. State Qualifiers so far are: Margaret Brandmeyer, Rebecca Jacobs, Kaitlin Wagner, Kat Qamar, Ellie Magsamen, Meghan Kearney, and Nathalie Barbeau. The team will compete against STA on Tuesday January 27 at the Red Bridge YMCA and then travels to Springfield for meets on Friday and Saturday.
The Swim and Dive Team competed in the Northland Invitational over the
weekend. The JV Team placed 6th out of 14 teams and were led by the
Grace Frame in Diving, Kate O'Keefe in Diving, and Lexi Smith in the
200 Free and 500 Free. The varsity Team placed 5th out of 23 teams
and were led by the following medalists: Margaret Brandmeyer in
Diving, Kaitlin Wagner in Diving, Meghan Kearney in the 200 Free and
500 Free, Hannah Spoolstra in the 100 Fly and the Medley Relay Team of
Clare McGannon, Ellie Magsamen, Meghan Kearney, and Nathalie Barbeau.
The team is competing in the Kansas City Classic this Friday and Saturday.
