Notre Dame de Sion School’s College Counseling Department provides a four-year, comprehensive and personalized program to prepare students for successful acceptance and matriculation into college. Each year 100% of Sion seniors receive acceptance to colleges across the nation and abroad. They also earn impressive merit-based (academic, talent) scholarship awards.

Our primary goal as a department is to help each student find – and ultimately select – the college or university that is the BEST FIT for her and her family: academic, personal (social, emotional, spiritual) and financial. This is a process that requires introspection, discovery, exploration, in-depth research, and communication.

The college counseling program at Sion is designed to meet the needs of students and families at each stage of the high school experience, addressing the primary questions of “what should I be doing right now?” and “what’s the next step?” Beginning freshman year and continuing into sophomore year, programming is offered in the form of classroom/group presentations, testing/test prep, and evening workshops for parents. Junior and senior years, the college counseling department offers individual and family college planning appointments, in addition to classroom/group presentations, testing/test prep, college fairs, college admission representative visits at Sion, and summer and evening workshops. Naviance/Family Connection is the primary college planning resource used by the college counseling department, Sion students and parents.  Naviance provides helpful college research tools including college search surveys, admission requirements, acceptance history, deadlines, etc.

Sion hosts nearly 100 college representatives annually, giving students the opportunity to meet and network with admission officers from colleges across the country. The college counseling department also works with admissions officers at universities to reinforce Notre Dame de Sion’s reputation of producing academically prepared and well-rounded graduates.
